With vibrant graphics and a sturdy design, the Landyachtz Switch is one of the best longboards for both beginner and advanced riders that you can buy. The Switch is perfect for any type of riding such as freeride, downhill, or even just cruising around.
The Landyachtz Switch 40” longboard is made out of 9 layers of Canadien maple which have 2 layers of fiberglass sandwiched in between giving this board a clean finish. The combination of different layers of maple makes the deck of the Landyachtz Switch feel sturdy and gives no flex as you stand on it.
The longboard measures 40 inches from end to end. There is another version of the Switch which measures 35 inches end to end. The 40-inch version of the Landyachtz switch should be used by any person taller than around 5 feet 8 inches.
Because of the drop down design of the Switch, the space to put your feet is limited. If you’re unsure of which board to get, go with the Landyachtz 40 inch. The extra length will not only allow you to go faster on downhills but also give you more space to do tricks on the main platform.
On both decks, the only difference is the length. The deck comes standard with Bear Gen 5 Grizzlies for trucks, Precision Bearings, and 70mm Mini Monsters 82A hardness for wheels.
Put together, this combination of quality parts is deadly and makes the Landyachtz Switch live up to all of its promises. The combination of Landyachtz trucks and wheels gives the boards the necessary parts to perform excellently in sharp turns and going downhill.
Taking the Landyachtz Switch 40” longboard downhill proved to be exhilarating. The wheels provided a smooth ride even as we flew down the hill and carved side to side.
The carving of the board is also superb. The high angle of the longboard trucks gives the wheels enough clearance to easily make sharp turns which makes this board perfect for commuters.
With the Landyachtz’s Switch drop down design, riders had a lower distance to go in order to push the board too. This made the Switch easy to push for long distances and great for commuting.
One semi-disadvantage of the wheels that come stock is that the wheels are very grippy. This is perfect for downhill where the wheels need to be grippy in order to perform sharp turns at high speeds.
However, for sliding, the wheels are not that great because it is harder to kick out the board and initiate the loss of traction to start sliding.
Overall, the Landyachtz Switch is a perfect longboard for any rider. The Switch excels for commuters with its drop down design that allows easy pushing and tight 90 degree turns. It also is perfect for downhill where riders can lock in their feet to the sides of the board helping keep the board stable at high speeds.
