When I was young, I was a typical skater child. We would grab a group of kids from around the neighborhood and skate up and down the back streets all summer.
As I grew up, I started staying away from the skatepark because of the immense difficulty in learning new tricks. I didn’t want to give up skateboarding though. There was something about the feeling of pushing the board along the street that was very relaxing.
The moment I learned about longboards changed me entirely. No longer was I stuck to pushing every second to go along a sidewalk. 10 years and a lot of different longboards later, I have my way-too-large quiver(collection of longboards) at home and enjoy riding whenever I can.
Every day I see more and more beginners get into longboarding and thinking back, I wish I had guidance on buying my first longboard. With so many brands and different longboard shapes and setups out there it’s hard to distinguish.
I ended up buying my first longboard from a simple store in the mall, a fact I’m embarrassed to admit now. That first longboard was quite frankly, terrible, and it wasn’t until a year later when I upgraded to a better board that I started to truly appreciate and learn more about longboarding.
This website was designed so you don’t have to go through my first longboard buying experience. I’ve assembled a crew over the past year and together we want to help you find the right longboard for your riding style.
To that end, you can check out our top recommended boards on the left and look through some of our reviews. If you have any questions about anything you’ve read or which board you should buy, feel free to reach out to us on the Contact Us page.
